This issue of the Developer News is sponsored by
Issue Four's Sponsor Highlight Multi-Edit v9.10 and EZRTools combined will explode your productivity while programming in SAS. Multi-Edit is already a great editor for almost any language out there. But combine this great editor with the EZRTools Add-on and you've got a powerful SAS programming tool, that will improve your productivity and reduce your development cycle time. EZRTools;) is a collection of edit macros, templates, and other tools that allow Multi-Edit to become a "SAS IDE". If you have worked mainframes, UNIX and PC boxes, you've seen a lot of editors. The good one's are customizable and extendable. They have a level of complexity that takes a while to learn. The customization level you receive with Multi-Edit is beyond what you get from the ISPF or Unix shell environment. This includes being able to create your own edit macros, menus, tool bars, etc. With the EZRTools;) Add-On you can increase your programming power. With a copy of the SAS/PC you can develop, test, and fix at PC speeds, all locally. Conversely you can still use the powerful editing features and upload/download your work to the host. A SAS tool kit is this new? What is the importance of EZRTools?

Going into the Holiday Season I’d first like to wish you the very best and hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year. I’d like to take my space in this newsletter to just remind everyone of how you can receive assistance with Multi-Edit issues whenever that may become necessary. Your first option, and probably the best given the huge knowledge base you can draw upon all at once, is submitting a query to the Support Forum on our website located here under Support: http://www.multieditsoftware.com/forums/ Also, concerning the forum you can use the Search option found near the top of the page to look for threads relating to your issue and possibly solving them without ever having to actually post a question. If this doesn’t get you results in a timely enough fashion you can send in an email directly to Support@multieditsoftware.com where we will jump right on the problem and try to figure out a solution for you as soon as possible. Support personnel will work on your issue and will work with you to find the solution, and if it becomes necessary, Development personnel may become involved as well to make sure that your work experience with Multi-Edit is the best and most efficient that it can be. It is also possible to send an email in by using the Help | Create Bug Report option found within the program itself The final option is calling in to our Support line at (480) 610-2700 option 2 and if necessary, please leave a detailed message concerning the nature of your problem along with your registration information. Also be sure to specify your Serial number and product version number. We certainly hope that you never actually need to contact support in the use of our product, but we know that sometimes the Help file doesn’t cover every possible question in specific detail and there are times when a little help is needed to clarify an issue or resolve a particularly complicated problem. In these instances you should expect nothing less than prompt and courteous service. Once again, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season and the very best for the coming New Year! Carl Hall, Level 1/Level 2 Support
