Introduction from the CEO

file documents image Welcome to the October edition of The Developer News!

- Chad Williams

In this edition I would like to personally wish a fond farewell to our Senior Developer and CTO Dan Hughes as he ventures onto other opportunities in his life. Although Dan will be heavily missed at MESI I'm sure we'll continue to see his comments and suggestions in our Multi-Edit online forums.

In our prior newsletter we had asked if you, our users, would tell us more about what you would like to see in our next build of Multi-Edit. Although we did get some feedback, I'd like to offer one final time to our users to supply us with what 'you' would like to see in 'ME'. Please take a moment to tell us what you would like to see in Multi-Edit by visiting our support forums at http://forums.multiedit.com/viewforum.php?f=7.

Mr. Brown is offering up some 'holiday' savings for the month of October, so be sure to view his article for details on how to take advantage of this month's exclusive savings opportunity.

Lately I've responded personally to a number of users who had lost a Multi-Edit dialog off screen and were unsure of how to restore it to a viewable position on their display. Please see my support article on restoring ME dialogs for steps how to resolve this state.

Have a safe and fun Halloween this year and remember, send us your features so that we can improve ME for YOU.

Until next month,

Chad Williams, CEO

- Brenton E. Brown

In celebration of this month's approaching All Hallows Eve, I am pleased to announce our 'Spooky Savings' for the month of October! This month only, you can purchase any 'Multi-Edit' product new or upgrade for a crazy savings of 25% off product purchase price. Be sure to enter $pooky in the promo code text box.

I would like to personally thank those of you who responded to my recent request to hear about the various ways Multi-Edit is used. I must say, I was quite impressed and in some cases literally boggled by the uses.

I've learned much about Multi-Edit, but your responses broadened that understanding incredibly! For those of you who took the time to respond, you'll find an email from me with a special 'thanks' for your time and input. If you haven't recieved your email, but sent your input on how you use Multi-Edit, drop me an email brentonb@multieditsoftware.com.

Thanks again for your continued support and direction,

Brenton E. Brown, COO

From the Support Desk

file documents image Bring back that Lost Dialog Window

From time to time when using Multi-Edit a dialog will become inadvertently misplaced off screen, or 'left' off screen after using dual monitors. This can not only be annoying but also frustrating if you cannot see the dialog to 'move it into view' or simply 'use it'.

This is an easy fix that can be resolved by running a simple macro to 'reset the dialog position' to its default location.

For Multi-Edit 2006:
From the Multi-Edit menu select Macro | Run
Input the following: Dialog^ResetDialogPos
Click: OK

For Multi-Edit 2008:
From the Multi-Edit menu select Macro | Run
Input the following: ResetDialogPos
Click: OK

When the above macro is run in the lower left status bar you should see the message 'Dialog positions reset', at which point all the dialogs will now be restored to their default locations.
