Year 2000 Statement

Multi-Edit, version 7.11c and later for Windows and version 7.0j and later for DOS, are fully year 2000 compliant and should not cause or experience any difficulties. It is Multi Edit Software, Inc.'s recommendation that all versions before version 7.11c for Windows and version 7.0j for DOS be upgraded to ensure year 2000 compliance.

Multi-Edit (all versions) does not internally use dates as a function of the program. Multi-Edit does contain functions that output dates into text files. In this context, the following information applies:

  • Multi-Edit 7.0 for DOS:Currently outputs dates with 2 digit years. A patch for version 7.0 users is now available on our downloads page which enables 4 digit dates.
    Note: You must have version 7.0 to obtain this patch.
  • Multi-Edit 7.11/8.0 and Evolve for Windows/NT/95: Outputs date based on operating system settings; fully year 2000 compliant.
In future releases, any added features that may use a date code will be four-digit and fully year 2000 compliant.
